This week finally felt like summer, for better or worse (gotta love that Tennessee heat), and, yet, we’re starting to focus hard on the fall, with more and more show announcements and releases rolling in. We still have plenty of great events to look forward to over the next month though, including more installments of Live on the Green, Americana Fest, and, of course, our weekly showcase at Acme Feed & Seed.

Before we kick off the last week of August, here’s a recap of everything we covered last week on the site:

  • NO COUNTRY PRESENTS: *repeat repeat and Pang | Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Acme Feed & Seed
  • NEWS: Wild Cub were added to Nashville Outlines as last minute headliners.
  • NEWS: Penicillin Baby, Machines Are People Too, and Diamond Carter announced an innovate “cell phone free show” at The High Watt.
  • NEWS: Bob Weir and Ratdog cancelled their planned Sept. show at The Woods at Fontanel with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood.
  • NEWS: The lineup for the upcoming fall season of Musicians Corner was announced.
  • NEWS: The full schedule was announced for the upcoming Americana Music Festival.
  • NEWS: Marathon Music Works and Cannery Ballroom announced back to school ticket bundles for several exciting upcoming shows.
  • REVIEW: We caught The Head and the Heart, Wild Cub, and Goodbye June at Live on the Green (w/ PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: Don Gallardo played our latest showcase at Acme Feed & Seed, and we brought you a recap (w/ PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: We checked out The Casket Girls with Dreamend and Coconut Milk at The End.
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our Staff highlighted their top weekend show picks.
  • SHOW: The Handsome Family came to The Basement with Richard Buckner.

  • SHOW: Alanna Royale, Dom Flemons, Ruston Kelly, and Elise Davis performed at Music City Roots.
  • SHOW: One-man show String Theory took place at Bongo After Dark.
  • RELEASE: Lauren Lyle released her debut EP, You Better Run.
  • RELEASE: The Afghan Whigs covered The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” ahead of their Cannery Ballroom show.
  • RELEASE: Bahamas dropped a new video and single ahead of his Sept. 22 performance at The High Watt.
  • VIDEO: White Lung dropped an acoustic video for “White Star” ahead of their performance at The End.
  • VIDEO: The New Pornographers released a video for “War on the East Coast” ahead of their fall show at Cannery Ballroom.
  • FUN: Hump Day Diversion: Ice Ice Baby
  • CONTEST: We announced a ticket giveaway for Banks‘ upcoming performance at Cannery Ballroom.
