Following in the footsteps of *repeat repeat, Bradley Warren, Jr., Vinyl Thief, Guthrie Brown, Phin, Daniel Ellsworth & The Great Lakes, Parlour Tricks, Phox, BZRK, and Moseley, local indie pop songstress CAPPA, who you’ve undoubtedly seen us rave about over the last several months, partnered up with our pals at local apparel and lifestyle brand DCXV to participate in the latest installment of their “Shop Sessions,” an ongoing live in-store performance series. Amidst an array of buzz surrounding the release of her debut, self-titeld EP (from which we recently premiered a music video for breakout single “Killin’ It”), CAPPA is performing this Saturday, Aug. 8 at Mercy Lounge, along with Vinyl Thief, Dinner and a Suit, and TYSSON, an event which DCXV is also sponsoring.
For this session, which was filmed by Mary-Beth Blankenship (whose photos you often see on this very site) and recorded by Joe Hutchinson, CAPPA performed a gorgeous, acoustic version of her first single “Hush,” proving that her talent and strong musicianship still stands, stripped of the sweeping production and electronics of her EP.
