It just might feel almost spring-ish this weekend, which is surely going to drive most of us out of our houses. Take advantage of safe driving conditions, and get out to see a weekend that is chock full of great shows from blog favorites. We have all of your weekend plans right here in this week’s edition of TWiN!
FRIDAY
WATERFALL WASH
@ Soulshine Pizza | 7pm | FREE | All Ages
We’re longtime fans of Waterfall Wash, and are glad to see that other outlets are starting to latch on to one of the tightest indie rock outfits in town. Lightning 100 has pegged Waterfall Wash as their local artist of the week, and that means a free show at Soulshine Pizza. We’ll be there starting our weekend off with some brews, grub, and jams, you should join us! [MH]
ALANNA ROYALE w/ MAGNOLIA SONS, ALLEN THOMPSON BAND, SHANNON LABRIE
@ Mercy Lounge | 8:30pm | $10 | 18+
As we already announced, local soul/r&b/rock outfit and site faves Alanna Royale are set to make a return to Mercy Lounge with a stacked local support bill, featuring Magnolia Sons, Allen Thompson Band, and Shannon LaBrie. We’ve been singing Alanna’s praises for years now, but, if you somehow still haven’t got their unbelievable live show (and even if you have), this is one unbeatable way to kick your weekend off right. [PO]
KONGOS w/ SIR SLY, COLONY HOUSE
@ Marathon Music Works | 8pm | $10-$20 | 18+
The multi-instrumentalist brothers that are Kongos will be invading Marathon Music Works tonight to play an 18+ show that should get rowdy. LA synth-rockers Sir Sly and local indie rock three-piece Colony House fill out the bill. [JR]

MAROON 5 w/ MAGIC!, ROZZI CRANE
@ Bridgestone Arena | 7:30pm | $29.50-125 | All Ages
Given pop rockers Maroon 5‘s superstar status, it’s no surprise that their Bridgestone Arena show is essentially sold out. SATURDAY
STURGILL SIMPSON w/ ANDERSON EAST
@ 3rd & Lindsley | 8pm | SOLD OUT | 18+
The East Nashvillian who’s made it big is back in town, and, not surprising to anyone, Sturgill Simpson has SOLD OUT 3rd & Lindsley. Thanks in no small part to his Waylon Jennings on acid Grammy nominated album Metamodern Sounds In Country Music, which will make his shows a hot ticket for years to come. This is first hometown show since he opened for Jason Isbell at The Ryman a few month ago, but, fear not if you missed out on tickets for this weekend, he’ll be laying it down at The Farm this summer; is it Bonnaroo yet? [JR]

For the rest of us, we’ll have to be content with the track below, “Live Forever.” [JS]

@ 12th & Porter | 9pm | $10 | 18+
Originally dubbed as the final show at 12th & Porter, this was set to be a blow out featuring the return of Luna Halo along with Newmatics and more, which we already told you about here. Good news has come about since that announcement though. The new ownership has figured out a way to keep the historic Nashville venue in operation. Regardless, this is a show that is still worth your consideration on Saturday night! [MH]
LOOK WHAT I DID w/ LASER FLAMES ON THE GREAT BIG NEWS, THE DEAD DEADS, SHEEP SHIFTER, GREYWOODS
@ Exit/In | 8pm | $5 | 18+
For over a decade, Nashville’s Look What I Did have been leading the charge for smarter, more politically and socially charged, and totally unhinged punk and metal movement. Five years in the making, the group are finally poised to release their highly-anticipated new album, a rock opera dubbed Zanzibar III: Analog Prison, on March 2, and they’re headlining a budget-friendly show at Exit/In in support. LWID’s unpredictable, sonic gut-punch of a live show should be enough to get you out, especially for just 5 bones, but the addition of Laser Flames on the Great Big News, The Dead Deads, Sheep Shifter, and Greywoods makes this your best bet for Saturday night.
