Third Shift Spotlight: Alanna Royale

It’s finally time for the last installment of our Third Shift Spotlight Series in anticipation of our awesome SXSW Send Off Show TOMORROW night at Mercy Lounge & The High Watt.

Last, but most certainly not least, is No Country favorite, Alanna Royale. The band (yep, Alanna Royale is a 7-piece band, but Alanna is also the singer of that band) just won this year’s first Road to Bonnaroo competition. We ranked their fall show at The Basement and Fall East Nashville Underground appearances among the best Nashville shows of 2012. Their debut EP release show last month was packed beyond capacity and they were recently featured as the Local Artist of the Week over at Lightning 100. Their East Nashville Underground Winter appearance brought the house and now we’re stoked to feature them on the bill for our free SXSW Send Off Show tomorrow night!

Alanna Royale is destined to be the next big Nashville success story, we can just feel it in our bones. Everyone that hears them play is immediately taken aback by Ms. Quinn-Broadus’s sheer star power that is supported by one of the tightest backing bands around. Comparisons have been drawn to an Amy Winehouse meets Brittany Howard with more horns kind of thing… and while that may get you in the ballpark, Alanna Royale demands dancing more than the rest.

We see only bigger and better things for this band and will be proud to say we were lucky enough to have them celebrate with us when they were on their way to the top!

Stay tuned for more with Alanna Royale as Record Store Day approaches (secret: we got secrets!). And get down to the SXSW Send Off Show on Saturday Night! Party starts at 8, you must be 21+. For a preview of the whole 10-band lineup, check out the show page.
