Nashville’s Natalie Prass, who, for several years now, has been a constant site favorite, is set to release her self-titled, full-length debut next week, Jan. 27, though Matthew E. White’s Spacebomb Records. For months, we’ve been looking forward to this release, and have wondered what direction Natalie, whose eclectic sound has evolved from full band to solo electronic/experimental and back again, would take with her debut, and, now, thanks to Pitchfork, Natalie Prass is streaming a week early! With a bit of a warm, vintage pop sound and gorgeously crafted and horn-laden instrumentation and harmonies, this LP, after just one listen, already strikes as a contender for one 2015’s best releases. For those who may not know, Prass has spent the better part of the year backing Jenny Lewis on tour, and, next month, will open for Ryan Adams in Europe. While no Nashville dates are currently posted, we expect Natalie’s tour to expand throughout the year.
