SAM OUTLAW w/ CALE TYSON
@ The Basement | 9pm | $10 | 21+
Sam Outlaw is a country singer living in Los Angeles. He was born in South Dakota and ‘Outlaw’ is his mother’s maiden name. 2014 was pivotal year for Outlaw when his music video became a viral hit, he self-released an EP and earned a slot at The Stagecoach Festival. He followed that up with his Nashville debut at Music City Roots, spent the summer writing new songs and returned to Nashville as a featured artist during AmericanaFest. He has since completed his first full-length album, Angeleno, which was produced by roots music legend Ry Cooder and features some of LA’s finest musicians, including Joachim Cooder on drums and as co-producer.
Opening is Cale Tyson, a singer-songwriter from Texas, now based in Nashville. Tyson released his debut EP, High On Lonesome, which features Kenny Vaughan on electric guitar, in 2013. Rolling Stone featured Tyson as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” and said “Old school, sad-bastard outlaw country for a new generation of excited country fans.” Tyson successfully crowd-funded (but you can still contribute) his first full-length album recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals with some of Nashville’s best musicians.
