In celebration of Morrissey‘s May 28 return to The Ryman (tickets here) and our accompanying ticket giveaway (get the full scoop), we’re going to be bringing you Moz-releated posts all week long. We got things started with a show preview, took a look at the new deluxe reissue and “definitive” remaster of Morrissey’s classic, Your Arsenal, and explored Morrissey’s beginnings with The Smiths’ career-defining debut and its legacy 30 years later. Today, Morrissey Week continues with some unexpected news: just-announnced details on the singer’s upcoming tenth full-length album!!

First announced in January, the LP will arrive through Moz’s new label home, Harvest Records, and will be called World Peace Is None of Your Business. It has “provisionally” been set for a late June/early July release (yeah, we don’t like the sound of “provisionally,” but it is, apparently, completed), which puts it right after the singer’s upcoming tour wraps. Recorded in France and produced by Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, The White Stripes, Young the Giant), World Peace will include 12 tracks, and Morrissey is said to be “beyond ecstatic” about the finished product.

His last release, Years of Refusal, dropped way back in 2009, and he’s been living in record label limbo since. Though last year saw a series of tour cancellations and postponements, plagued by health and technical issues, Morrissey has found recent success in a memoir, released a concert film last year, and is currently generating chart success from his cover of Lou Reed’s “Satellite of Love,” which may or may not wind up on World Peace. Give it a spin below!
