If you were at this weekend’s sold out Kanye vs. Jay-Z show at The Basement East, you might have gotten a taste of local pop crooner Levi Ray and buzzworthy up and coming rapper Jung Youth both doing their thing, along with a ton of other Nashville talent tackling covers of two hip hop titans. What you might have missed though, is that last week, Levi and and Jung Youth teamed up for a shimmering new song called “WIWD2U,” which juxtaposes the singer’s soulful, earnest pop delivery with the rapper’s sharp, smooth flow, to spectacular results. Definitely a sexy, calm contrast to Jung Youth’s savage spot on Chancellor Warhol’s new track “Oxblood,” which we brought you last week, “WIWD2U” is a wonderful local track to kickstart the soundtrack to your week. Give it a spin below!
