Out in support of their fantastic, nuanced, and essential recent fourth album, High as Hope, London’s Florence + the Machine are set to return to Music City for the first time in three years to play their biggest local headliner to date, Oct. 2 at Bridgestone Arena with buzzy, young electropop up and comer Billie Eilish. Now more than a decade in and an internationally beloved outfit, Florence, led by unbelievable vocalist Florence Welch, are a band you must experience live to fully appreciate. And Eilish, a rising star in her own right, brings to this bill a youthful, contemporary flourish. Tickets are still available here, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Read on for more about the show, and enter for a chance to win below!

FLORENCE + THE MACHINE

London’s Florence + the Machine blend Baroque pop, pastoral folk, and artful alternative rock to create a rousing sound which they debuted on 2009’s Lungs. Led by namesakes Florence Welch and Isabella “Machine” Summers, the group broke into the mainstream upon the strength of their platinum singles “Dog Days Are Over,” “You’ve Got the Love,” and “Shake It Out,” finding swift fame in their native U.K. and eventually stateside and around the globe. Formed initially in 2007, the group inked a deal with Island in 2008, upon recruiting a full backing band. Lungs followed a year later, earning Florence worldwide acclaim and kicking off an international tour cycle. In 2010, the band returned to the studio with producer Paul Epworth for their sophomore effort, Ceremonials, which successfully expanded on the group’s already huge sound, and arrived in 2011. After a bit of an intentional break, Florence returned triumphant with the Markus Dravs-produced How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, in 2015, and has remained active since. Nominated for five Grammy Awards, it was the band’s third consecutive number one U.K. album, topping charts in Australia, the U.S., and across Europe. Their fourth effort, High as Hope, dropped earlier this year, featuring production by Emile Haynie, Brett Shaw, Thomas Bartlett, and Tobias Jesso, Jr. Yet another instant classic, flourishing, soulful, and huge effort, more than a decade in, Florence + the Machine still sound as inspired and exciting as ever. Their live show is world-renowned, and whether you’re a longtime fan or a casual observer, they’re band you have to see in concert.

BILLIE EILISH

At only 16, LA electropop up and comer Billie Eilish is already making waves as one of the most promising young singers in pop, and managed to blow us away with her debut, main stage appearance at Bonnaroo earlier this summer, despite being barely older than the fest itself. Don’t let her youth fool you though; Billie hails from a talented, artistic family, and has been an aspiring performer since her preteen years. She released her breakout single “Ocean Eyes” in 2016, amassing millions of plays and inking a deal with Interscope for her 2017 debut LP Don’t Smile at Me, going on to attract viral fame and a rabid young fanbase over the past year since, achieving further hits like Khalid teamup “Lovely.” A confident, youthful, uncompromising, and supremely cool new performer, Eilish seems primed for a long and successful pop career, and her addition to this bill, one of only a handful of dates with Florence, helps make this show beyond essential. Don’t miss her set!
