Updated Caroling Party-2015

On Dec. 19, we’re teaming up with old pals East Nashville Underground at The Stone Fox to bring you a night full of Christmas caroling fun with more than 20 of your favorite local bands.  Those of you who joined us before will remember arm in arm singing, shenanigans, laughs galore, holiday drinks, and some awesome takes on the Christmas standards.  This year we can expect more of the same from acts like ELEL, Buffalo Rodeo, The Combo, Sad Baxter & Luella who will be joining with performers including, Jung Youth, Beech Benders, Tesla Rossa, Twiggs, Hot Tub Club, Waterfall Wash, Hotel War, Gardening Not Architecture, Photo Ops, American Dream, and Tetherball!

This year also features some fresh blood from the likes of Yankee Blood, Charlie Abbott, Phantom Farmer, & Jacob Thomas Jr.!  And, of course, no caroling evening would be complete without Mr. Steve The Music Man (aka Steve Lee) carrying us out in a full on, some of us slurring, sing-a-long.

Want more?  No problem.  This sucker is FREE!  That’s right.  Come one, come all to this celebration of friends and music at The Stone Fox starting at 7pm on Dec. 19!  We’ll also be keeping it charitable again this year by accepting unused pet food and other pet items at the door to donate to two of our favorite local animal rescues (heroes) A Place To Bark & Nashville Cat Rescue!

For the rest of the week, we’ll be getting you in the mood with little previews of each of the bands that will be performing carols on Saturday.  If you want more information about the event, you can RSVP at the Facebook event page, get hip to the bands from the 8 o’clock hour here, spend some time with the artists performing in the 9 o’clock hour, revel in the talent in the 10 o’clock hour here, and now head below for the final artists that will be performing.  See you on Saturday!

THE BEECH BENDERS | “A SURFER’S CHRISTMAS LIST” | 11:00 PM

The Beech Benders have been establishing themselves as the king of poppy surf rock here in Nashville for a couple of years now, and we’re all about the warm weather vibes in the dead of a landlocked winter.  Let them carry you right to the beach with their take on The Surfaris “A Surfer’s Christmas List”.

ELEL | “CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE” | 11:10 PM

If you are even a sporadic reader of this site, you are certainly familiar with ELEL.  The local worldly indie pop band, fronted by Ben Elkins, has been making waves with their self-titled EP on tastemaker label Mom + Pop that dropped earlier this year.  While we could ramble on about the accolades that have been piled on ELEL both locally and nationally, the point of this ditty is get you imagining how they are going to perform Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time Is Here” from the renowned soundtrack of A Charlie Brown Christmas.

MR. STEVE THE MUSIC MAN| HOLIDAY MEDLEY | 11:20 PM

Mr. Steve The Music Man (aka Steve Lee) has had a pretty awesome career as a fantastic songwriter and storyteller in Nashville.  After teaching for a while, he found the joy and beauty in performing for children, and left behind the awesomely unique sounds of one of his previous project, Yumzah, to focus solely on his new project, Mr. Steve The Music Man.  There is zero lack of creativity in Steve Lee, as he has found success in a very short period of time in his quest to bring music to ears of all ages.  Per our tradition of the past few years, Mr. Steve will gather us all around to send us off with a holiday medley packed with caroling standards.  Definitely stick around for this!

The Fourth Annual Christmas Carol Show takes place Saturday Dec. 19 at The Stone Fox. The show is 18+, begins at 8pm (doors at 7pm), and it’s totally FREE!
