We’ve never mentioned Nashville’s witch house scene here at No Country for fear of ending up on the wrong side of a trap-beat curse. Self-proclaimed Denmark to Nashville transplants BLVCK PØW∃Я brought the forbidden musical cult public with the announcement of an EP and a couple of Halloween parties.

Learn more about the mysterious, eerie project after the jump.

BLVCK PØW∃Я is a very serious distillation of witch house, made popular by early Crystal Castles, SALEM, and followers of 90’s TV series Twin Peaks. TH∃ DVЯK GLØVV EP features spooky (and surely Satanic) wails, grave-rolling beats, and otherworldly synths. Plus the song titles read like alchemical texts of pop songs.

The record label behind all of this, DARK DAZE MVSIC, is throwing their first gathering of the season at The Five Spot on Saturday, Oct. 17. The lineup includes Halloween novelty punk crew BOO DUDES, BLVCK PØW∃Я, Cosmic Yawn, and comedy by Chuck Anderson, also known as The Mighty Chuck. Cover is a mere $5, starts at 6PM, and attendance gets you into the label’s Oct. 31 Halloween house party for free.

Rumor has it, for the Halloween night show BLVCK PØW∃Я will again include Boo Dudes along with a trio of necromancers leading “meditative chants and dark lullabies” for their Oct. 31 release show / house party / sinful conclave.  The event notes that costumes and sacrifices are encouraged, but not mandatory. At a $5 cover, it’s certainly an attractive alternative to big budget Halloween events.

RSVP to the Facebook event, and the exact location of this unholy party will be revealed via the event page on October 30th.
