ParquetCourts-620

That’s right Music City, Brooklyn’s Parquet Courts are back in town, and ready to entertain you with their brand of punk rock TONIGHT at Exit/ In. Look for Memphis all-female punskters Nots and local ladies Churchyard to warm up the party. This 18 + show starts at 9 pm (doors at 8), and you can still get tickets for $13-$15. If you want to know more about the line-up, please read on after the jump, and, regardless, we hope to see you there tonight!

PARQUET COURTS

Formed in NYC around 2010, Parquet Courts have exploded onto the scene in the last year and a half, thanks to their underground-to-mainstream sophomore LP Light Up Gold (2012). Last year’s follow up, Sunbathing Animal, was also loved by indie kids and embraced by critics too, peaking at #55 on the US Billboard Charts, but that was just part of a busy year. They also recorded a live show at Third Man Records (to be released on vinyl on 3/3/15), they were named Spin’s Best Band of 2014, and, less than six months after the last LP’s release, they even snuck in a second record entitled Content Nausea under the pseudonym Parkay Quarts (see what they did there?). Now you have a chance to hear what all the hubbub is about first hand, if you haven’t already, so don’t miss your opportunity to catch one of the hottest bands in existence when they invade Nashville tonight.

NOTS

Relatively new on the scene, the Nots are an all-female punk band signed to Memphis label Goner Records. The trio were members of other bands, including Ex-Cult, Manatees, Moving Finger, but have come together to form something all-together new and wild. It’s party punk, Memphis style!

CHURCHYARD

The East Nashvillian, slightly dark, garage rockers Churchyard have been making waves and tearing rips in the fabric of reality since 2013. We’ve covered them before in an opening slot, but never for a band quite as big as tonight’s headliners, so we look forward to seeing them show up extra hard for the larger crowd. Get mystified below.

Parquet Courts, Nots, and Churchyard will perform TONIGHT at Exit/In. The show is 18 +, begins at at 9 pm (doors at 8), and tickets are available for $13-$15.
