It’s been a minute since we told you about the debut EP release for Nashville’s Mystery Twins, but that doesn’t mean that Doug Lehmann and Stephanie Brush haven’t been hard at work. If those names sound familiar, it’s because they have been fixtures in the local music scene, comprising half of the acclaimed local band, The Clutters, around the turn of the millennium. Their new project, Mystery Twins, focuses more on stripped down, raw instrumentation which evokes an ethereal quality to their well-crafted, slightly dark pop songs.
Since their 2012 EP Love Is Strange, they have been working on their debut full-length, Ghost In The Ground, and we’re excited to share the first video for “Ghost” from that effort below. While this is the first video to be released from the new record, another single from the record, “The River”, has landed a spot on the Third Man Records anthology “Language Lessons Vol. 1” that we recently told you about. Ghost In The Ground is available for download from Mystery Twin’s Soundcloud page, or you can stream it after the video below. The only official date on the books is the release of their second EP, I’m Not Like Everyone Else, featuring three news songs and covers of The Kinks and Lee Hazelwood, at Fond Object on September 27th for Cassette Store Day (yes, that’s a thing).
