Black-Lips-620

Nashville and Atlanta acts are coming together tonight for a party at Exit/In. Come out and join us as we witness the indie punk rock of Pujol with the sweat dripping gritty soul of Curtis Harding and the fuzz infused Atlanta garage rock of The Black Lips. We are pretty excited about this show tonight. So, if you are looking for some Atlanta rock and soul along with one of our own Nashville favorites then you need to make it out to Exit/In tonight, show starts at 9 PM, get your tickets here for only $15.

PUJOL

Daniel Pujol’s latest release and sophomore album KLUDGE is an eccentric assortment of garage rock, psychedelic writing and lyrical brilliance. Through a lens of skepticism, humor, idealism and sincerity Pujol’s KLUDGE pushes the intellectual boundaries of songwriting. We at No Country have been excited about what this local Nashville artist has been up to. Check out  his past release of the music video for the single “Circles” and most recently the premier for his latest music video of “Youniverse”. Here is “POSTGRAD” off of Pujol’s DEEP CUTS 7″ released on Record Store Day 2013

CURTIS HARDING

Next in this lineup of powerhouse performers is the gritty 60s powered soul of Curtis Harding. Considered a “student of the gritty, sweat-dripping, hip-swinging blues”, Harding has learned to showcase an honesty through his music worthy of the great communicator that music is.  With his debut Soul Power now out, Harding shares an organ rich, soul-infused dynamic throughout this album of deep honest spirit. Though Harding may be the least known on the bill for tonight he is not new to the game. First as a backup singer, fill-in hype man, touring and recording for Cee Lo Green, Harding also has a side project with The Black Lips singer-guitarist Cole Alexander called Night Sun, and even a co-write on one of the tracks from The Black Lips newest album Underneath The Rainbow. Check out his eccentric music video for “Keep on Shining” right here below.

THE BLACK LIPS

The beloved sons of Atlanta are back. The Black Lips will be headlining this night of hard hitting soulful music, and we mean real soul. There is an effort and honesty to the music of The Black Lips. Showcased deeply in their most recent release of Underneath The Rainbow. Produced with the help of The Black Key’s Patrick Carney, and with songs piling up since their 2011 Arabia Mountains, this new album expresses an earnestness to reach out with the grit, sweat, and blood of this group. Underneath the Rainbow, is stream-lined and straight to the point, we wouldn’t expect less from this garage-pop dive into the Atlanta vibe. Check out their recent music video for “Funny” from Underneath the Rainbow.

The Black Lips, Curtis Harding, and PUJOL will perform 7/17 at Exit/IN. The show is 18+, begins at at 9 PM (doors at 8 PM), and tickets are available for $15.
