Girls tickets on sale 7/15

San Francisco based indie rock band Girls (not to be confused with the early 80’s English Glam Band, Girl, that was the precursor to Def Leopard and L.A. Guns) announced a fall tour today in support of their new album Father, Son, Holy Ghost (releasing on September 13th via True Panther).  Girls is often compared to a more lo-fi, psychadelic, or Beach Boys-y version of Elvis Costello.  I guess if you are a big fan of EC, you could use this as a warm up for his September 25th show at the Ryman, or, perhaps, just go see a similar (and far newer band) for significantly less money.  The bands first LP Album was released in 2009 and the follow up EP Broken Dreams Club was released in 2010 both from True Panther.  They will be stopping at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge on September 16th.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow (7/15) at 10 a.m.  It’s a good thing it is payday for some of you, because this is the same day that tickets for Wilco and Pains of Being Pure at Heart go on sale too.

I’ll put together a more detailed post about Girls (and include some of the songs off the new record) as the time gets closer, but below are a couple from past releases for you to listen to while cashing that paycheck to buy some fun night’s of music in Nashville.
