Vinyl Thief Premiere “Compact” Ahead of July 22 Release of ‘Fathoms’

Earlier this year Vinyl Thief released Stop Motion, a fantastic followup to their 2012 debut EP, Rebel Hill, and something of an appetizer, a way to whet our palettes ahead of the main course: their upcoming debut full-length, Fathoms. While we still have to wait until July 22 to hear the whole thing, the band have begun building buzz by releasing singles, and the first, “Compact,” is streaming now via All Things Go. Sound familiar? That’s because the group first gave us a taste of the groovy, dynamic, electro-pop banger back in the spring, during their guest spot on our No Country For New Nashville Podcast.

Listen to “Compact” below, and catch the band live at DCXV’s “Stay Tuned” mural debut party next Friday, July 11, 7-10 p.m. at Center 615 (details here). If you need some extra convincing, check out Vinyl Thief’s recent DCXV “Shop Session” and our review of their killer spring show at The High Watt.
