Beyonce2016-620

In a perfect world, we’d all be seeing reigning R&B queen Beyoncé tonight at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. However, inexplicably, the singer, who announced the show earlier this year following an explosive Super Bowl performance, abruptly postponed her Music City outing last week, leaving many to speculate, but providing no concrete reason as to why (the rest of the run has, so far, gone on as planned). Thankfully, postponed really did just mean postponed, and a new Nashville date has been announced, as part of a short new fall leg of shows: Oct. 2. Tickets originally purchased for this evening’s event will still be honored, and some pretty stellar (albeit pricey) seats are still available here.

Since the show’s announcement, of course, Beyoncé released a semi-surprise sixth album, Lemonade, which debuted alongside a stunning visual odyssey, airing for one day on HBO before moving to download services as a “visual album” bundle. While most of the focus has been on the apparent lyrical themes of marital infidelity, potentially about Queen Bey’s husband Jay-Z, as a whole, the LP is a genre-bending, high-concept, artistic masterpiece, featuring guests like Jack White and Kendrick Lamar, and it’s visual counterpart, a gorgeous, Terrance Malick-inspired sequence of shorts, is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Watch a trailer below, stream Lemonade on TIDAL or buy it on iTunes.
