RecordStoreDay-620

While most every vinyl enthusiast should be well aware of Record Store Day, which has occurred annually for nearly a decade every spring, it might be easy to overlook the indie record store celebration’s bonus, fall counterpart: Black Friday Record Store Day. Held the day after Thanksgiving, this year Nov. 27, the mini version of the vinyl-driven event was born out of indie records stores’ desire to bag some exclusives to fuel what is, already, a big day for shopping and sales (and to help meet the constant, ever-growing demand of record enthusiasts for new releases). Definitely scaled back, Black Friday RSD still boasts countless exclusives, regional/small run, and first releases. And, while all of the new stuff is all set to drop on Friday, many participating stores will be hosting sales all throughout the weekend, joining in on the Small Business Saturday local shopping day as well. Unlike the spring RSD, Black Friday is just about the shopping, so don’t expect all of the in-store performances and all-day celebrations that occur in April.

As we did for this year’s main Record Store Day, we’ve made a guide with some details to help you decide where to shop and what to look for (for more in-depth specific details about each store revisit our spring guide here). Below, keep reading for hours, sale details, and, of course, the local and national releases we think you should keep an eye out for!
