If you’re not familiar with the A.V. Club’s “Undercover” series, you should check it out. Basically, the site makes a list of songs each year, and invites various bands to come in and pick one to cover, crossing them out as they go (forcing later bands to select from fewer choices). In their most recent episode, they featured Nashville’s own Wild Cub, who elected to cover Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love.” Unsurprisingly, the rockers gave it their own touch, bringing a more electronic, minimalist, and airy flair to the track.
It’s been an incredible year for Wild Cub, and, the fact that they’re being invited to participate in things like this just further exemplifies the well-deserved newfound interest they’ve gained since the re-release of their debut album, Youth. Watch “Crazy in Love” below!
