Ted Leo, Third Man Records – 10 May 2011

Hosted in the intimate (and acoustically amazing) performance space in Third Man Records in Nashville, Ted Leo played a little publicized show for about 150 people on Tuesday night.  I was shocked to see so few people there, especially, given that the cover charge was only $4.  I guess it is just another reason that Nashville needs a blog like this to help get the word out.

Ted Leo, best known for his work with Chisel and The Pharmacists, belted out about 90 minutes of frenetic solo guitar.  Just a man, his guitar, and a booming voice that completely filled the small space.  The first 50 or so minutes were recorded live, and the folks at Third Man will press the recording into a limited edition “black and blue” vinyl (supposedly available only to ticket holders).  I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on that record when it is finished.

Here are some links to Ted’s work to give you an idea if you are not familiar.
