Influenced by the vibrant hip hop scene in his native Memphis like Three 6 Mafia, as well as other greats of the ’00s like Lil Wayne and Gucci Maine, Markeyvius Kathy, better known as Key Glock, crafted his own, updated spin on the Memphis sound during his tumultuous teen life, signed by his cousin, the late Young Dolph, to Paper Route Empire ahead of 2017 mixtape Glock Season. A couple more mixtapes as well as a collation with Dolph, Dum and Dummer, would follow, before Key’s Gold-certified, Billboard charting debut studio album, Yellow Tape, in 2020. Boasting a raw, stark, and braggadocios southern style and propulsive, modern trap production, Glock quickly connected with a wider audience, and subsequent studio albums Yellow Tape 2 in 2021 and Glockoma 2 in 2023, as well as another Dolph teamup Dum and Dummer 2 in 2021 (shortly before Dolph’s tragic passing), cemented him as one of hip hop’s most essential fixtures of the 2020s.
Newly signed to Republic Records, Key Glock released his long-awaited major label debut, Glockaveli, just a few weeks ago, and is currently in the midst of a tour in celebration, set to play his biggest Nashville show yet June 5 at Municipal Auditorium! The supporting lineup is stacked, with New York staple Sheck Wes, Lil Yachty cohort Karrahbooo, from Atlanta, and fellow Memphis rappers Zo Trapalot and PaperRoute Woo all set to open. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan; preview the lineup and enter below!
