It’s unusual to tell you about a show without being able to tell you where it is or exactly how to attend, but this one’s too cool to pass up. Enduring pop punks The All-American Rejects, who are gearing up to release their first album in 13 years (check out new single “Sandbox” now), have recently been going viral for play small, punk style house shows across the country, and their latest will take place right here in Nashville tonight! Where? We don’t know, nor is it even being widely advertised, but frontman Tyson Ritter spilled the beans on his TikTok, and it’s definitely somewhere in Nashville. The only way in- as with all of these house shows- is to RSVP right here, and hope you get an invite (but if you’re not so lucky, the band will also be streaming the show on TikTok Live).
@theallamericanrejects The movie that was tonight. Complete with police cameo, but the supporting cast was too feral to let us go without a kiss goodbye. Roll credits. Thx to our director Andy Knight 📹
♬ original sound – All-American Rejects
Formed in 1999 in Oklahoma (and at least partially based now in Nashville, where guitarist Nick Wheeler operates a recording studio), The All-American Rejects went on to become one of the defining acts of the 2000s pop punk and emo explosion, breaking out with their eponymous debut album in 2002, finding massive commercial success for 2005 followup Move Along, and capping off a stellar run with 2008’s When the World Comes Down, all spawning mega hits like “Move Along,” “Gives You Hell,” “Dirty Little Secret” and “Swing, Swing.” Things slowed down a little in the 2010s (as pop punk as a whole faded from the mainstream), though AAR has endured, releasing their fourth album Kids in the Street back in 2012, and continuing to tour. Like many of the peers, a resurgence in interest in the 2000s pop punk scene, coupled with millennial nostalgia, has boosted the band’s profile once more in recent years, giving way to genre-themed fests and bigger tours and a whole new generation of fans.
We caught their last appearance in Nashville a couple years ago, and can attest- The Rejects are still an absolute blast, and can’t think of a cooler, more nostalgic way to experience their live show than at a house party (a far-cry from their next Nashville date, which will be opening for The Jonas Brothers at Bridgestone Arena this fall). We don’t have any tips to attend or any more insight aside from filling out that RSVP form; good luck!
