It’s hard to believe it’s already been four years since indie rock icon Jenny Lewis‘ phenomenal and career-high third solo album The Voyager. Given the extensive amount of worldwide touring around it though, it makes since why we haven’t heard quite as much from Jenny lately, after wrapping multiple tours, an anniversary run for her debut Rabbit Fur Coat, and the surprise unveiling of yet another cool new project, Nice As Fuck.
While it’s unclear when we can expect a new LP (her solo output has always been intermittent, with prior commitments to groups like Rilo Kiley and The Postal Service, and more recent ones to Jenny & Johnny and NAF), ahead of a few already announced festival stops (including nearby Forecastle Festival), Lewis has announced a handful of additional U.S. dates, kicking off with a June 11 stop at The Basement East.
Notably, the prolific rocker played The BEast once before, for an acoustic benefit in early 2016 right after a full show at The Ryman. She returned to town later that year to play Live on the Green, her most recent Music City show after several years of frequent appearances. With Nashville ties (frequent collaborators The Watson Twins now reside here), it’s no surprise that Jenny opted for such a cool and intimate venue, but the tradeoff is tickets are going to go quick. Grab ’em here beginning today, April 13 at 10 a.m. CDT while you can!
