If you love Southern rock ‘n’ roll with some country fried licks, than we have a new band that need to be on your radar immediately. The Magpie Salute are an eclectic collective stacked with some heavy hitters, including co-founding member of The Black Crowes Rich Robinson on guitar (you may remember his last trip to Music City), plus fellow Black Crowes alum Marc Ford (guitar), and Sven Pipien (bass), drummer Joe Magistro (Rich Robinson Band), third guitarist Nico Bereciartua, lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White, and two additional background singers, Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen. Got all that? We’re still processing it ourselves, but this much we know for sure, They’ll be playing Marathon Music Works on Aug. 25, and all ages tickets are currently available here. With three guitar players, we think it’s a pretty safe bet they’re going to shred live, but we’ll all have to wait and see to be certain. Hear the new project below, and stay tuned for more details as the show approaches.
