Hailing from a small town in southeast Georgia, Christopher Michael Hulvey, better known simply as Hulvey, has been a rising star in the hip hop and contemporary Christian music scene since 2019, when, after dropping out of college and moving to Atlanta to pursue music more seriously, he released an early string of singles, inked a deal with Reach Records, then made an impressive debut with 2020 EP Prelude. In the few short years since, Hulvey has stayed prolific as his star power has continued to rise, dropping several more acclaimed EPs and a 2021 debut full-length, Christopher, touring the nation, collabing with the likes of Lecrae, 116 Clique, and Ciara, earning millions of streams and awards recognition, and charting both on Christian and secular hip hop charts. A gifted rapper and singer with a sharp flow, modern and stylish production, and an uplifting message fueled by the importance of his faith, the young artist channels a quintessentially Gen Z fusion of sensitive, melodic, and emotional emo rap and bedroom pop funneled through a mainstream hip hop and R&B lens, a style which has quickly earned him a loyal following.
Out in support of his sophomore full-length, last year’s CRY, Hulvey will bring his latest tour to Cannery Hall’s Mainstage on March 5, for what appears to be the rapper’s first headlining Nashville show ever. Joining the Hulvey is a perfectly-matched local favorite, nobigdyl., who also combines a modern, genre-bending, and unique style with conceptual, faith-fueled lyrical prowess, and also dropped several great new projects last year, like LP The People We Became. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan!
