The solo vehicle of Speedy Ortiz frontwoman Sadie Dupuis, Sad13 released her fantastic, feminist, indie pop full-length debut, Slugger, last fall, and has been steadily touring in support over the past few months. Still active with Speedy (they recently released a new single, and are working on their next album after a busy year of tours and festivals), Sad13 showcases a poppier, quirkier side of Sadie’s artistry and essential point of view, and her debut marked one of last year’s best under the radar releases.
Following the successful, near overnight GoFundMe effort to relaunch local DIY space Drkmttr, we’ve noticed shows starting to reappear on the venue’s slate for next month, and among them is a March 8 stop on Sad13’s upcoming full band run, featuring opener Stef Chura. Needless to say, seeing Dupuis in a house venue is a rare and rad opportunity (Speedy don’t play huge shows, but they do play clubs), and she couldn’t be better suited to help welcome back such an inclusive, communal arts space.
As of now, details are light, but we’ll be sure to fill you in on everything you need to know ahead of the show!
