Local pop/r&b artist Jeffrey James released the beautifully tempered single “Both Ways” this fall via Nashville indie label South x Sea. Today, we’re excited to bring you the exclusive premiere of the track’s live performance video, recorded at the label’s east side studio space. James nimbly alternates between warm verses and standout choruses while talented background vocalists Whitney Coleman and Skye Reedy join pianist John-Luke Carter.
James appreciates the starkness of this version, saying “Stripping ‘Both Ways’ down to its piano/vocal core gave the song a much more somber, reflective feel for me. One where the lyrics truly guide the performance, even more so, I think, than the original recording.”
