It’s been a hot minute since we last reported on Thelma and the Sleaze when they were in the midst of an amazingly awesome month long intra-city tour, but that surely doesn’t mean that they haven’t been hard at work since.  The well honed, punk influenced, sludge rock trio are well known for their lewd shows, and their records squeal of unrivaled grrl power.

However, we also know they aren’t immune to the holidays as we learned first hand at one of our Caroling Shows past.  Thelma’s front woman Lauren “LG” Gilbert apparently found some quiet space to jot down her feelings about the holidays, as heard in the new release Christmas Sampler 2016.  Sporting soon-to-be holiday classics like “Strip Club Christmas” and “Butt Stuff,” this is definitely one that steps out of the usual land of crooners, as LG strips down bluesy-country numbers that will question your entire belief of the commercial holiday season.  Head below to dig in, and mark your calendar for their next local show at Little Harpeth Brewing on Jan 13.
