Nashville’s Michael McQuaid creates cunning R&B, spices it up with pop hooks, and tops the package off with a dose of gritty charisma. McQuaid’s new single “Heartbreaker” is an excellent introduction if you aren’t familiar, and we have the premiere of the track ahead of its release on Friday. “Heartbreaker” burns down the house with simmering vocals, volcanic synths, and rumbling beats.
A Dallas native, McQuaid originally started his career from a pop/pock background before making the transition into the realm of alt R&B. “Heartbreaker” was written by McQuaid and Brittney Spencer, with production by Christian Fiore. The single follows up last year’s Glasshouse EP, which is highly recommended if you need more McQuaid in your life.
Listen to “Heartbreaker” below and stay tuned for more R&B and pop coming out of our eclectic city.
