It’s no secret that Nashville’s pop scene is absolutely flourishing. It seems like every other week some buzzworthy new artist pops up, drawing influence from retro pop and modern r&b, with slick synth heavy production and endless hooks. We do our best to keep you in the loop, but sometimes navigating the waters of new Nashville pop scene can be a daunting task, and that’s why the recent crop of pop-centric, expertly curated showcases have been a godsend for those looking to dive in. Tonight, Sept. 7 at The High Watt, BMI is taking a stab at one such showcase with a very special, stacked 8 off 8th: Pop Edition, featuring eight (technically nine) local up and comers that you absolutely need to know.

The 100% FREE, 21+ show will start at 8 p.m. (doors at 7), and the eight amazing performer featured include passion popster Jake Rogers, Nebraska transplanted singer songwriter Jordan Keim, multi-instrumentalist Michael McEachern, pop piano player Kyle Reynolds, buzzy singer Clairity featuring special guest Carlos Guevara, No Country Presents alum J. Human, indie popsters The Foxies, and another site favorite, Nodaway. You get all this amazing music for absolutely no cover charge, so, if your go-to excuse is that you’re too broke to go see live music, well you can just cram it! Not just a great intro to Nashville pop, this 8 off 8th is a great way to sample a wide variety of local talent, since each artist plays only a handful of songs. You’ll rarely get more for nothing than at 8 off 8th showcases, and this one in particular is a can’t-miss; preview the talent below if you need any extra convincing!

Jake Rogers, Jordan Keim, Michael McEachern, Kyle Reynolds, Clarity (feat. Carlos Guevara), J. Human, The Foxies, and Nodaway will perform tonight, Sept. 7 at The High Watt. Music starts at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and this 21+ performance is 100% free!
