JungYouth-620

A mainstay in the Nashville hop hop scene, and one of the city’s most exciting emerging acts hands down, Jung Youth has long been a site favorite, and an artist we’ve told you about on numerous occasions. Though we slept a little on the lead up, the rapper dropped his latest EP, Stay Chill, just last week, on June 24. Produced by buzzy local producer Super Duper, and featuring guest spots from favorites like Chancellor Warhol, REMMI, and Aaron Krause, the EP boasts standout singles “Sleep When I Die,” “Idwly,” and “Ice Cream Man,” which, as you may remember, we premiered last year. It’s already not just one of our favorite local releases of 2016, but one of our favorite hip hop records of the year period, and if you haven’t given it a spin yet, you can do so on Spotify, Soundcloud, and Apple Music, or download a copy on iTunes.

On the heels of Stay Chill‘s release, we’re beyond excited to bring you a premiere today of appropriately titled post-EP bonus track “4th of July.” Also produced by Super Duper, the hard-hitting tune fits right at home with the rest of the EP’s offerings, showcasing the rapper’s clever lyricism, confident and honed flow, and eclectic style. Check it out below!
