We’ve been hip to local electro-pop songwriter Aaron Krause for a while now.  We introduced you to him ahead of the release of his EP, Jade, last fall, and his name has been popping up in collaborations all over town.  Now, in the devastating news that Prince passed away last week, Krause has released a cover with blog favorite Liza Anne of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U.”

Krause gave this statement with the release, “About a year ago, with the help of my sweet friend Liza Anne, I decided to cover my absolute favorite Prince song, “I Would Die 4 U.” We worked hard to create something beautiful enough to justify altering the timeless original, and, after it was finished, we ended up shelving it, not knowing how or when to release it.  Today, I understand.  My hope is that this cover would help us all celebrate the life and the legacy of such a brilliant man.”

Head below to check out the beautiful reinterpretation from two of Nashville’s finest, as we all continue to remember the legacy of Prince.
