The nearby, annual Bonnaroo Music Arts Festival quietly began updating its website late last night, unveiling the visual theme for this summer’s 15th anniversary installment. This led us to believe that the full lineup might be arriving as early as today, but, thanks to a graphic spotted by The Bonnarooster, it appears that we’ll have to wait one more week, when it will be announced on the Jan. 19 episode of Conan, 10 p.m. CST on TBS. ‘Roo and Conan have a long history, and since it’s the fest’s anniversary, it’s no surprise that they’re opting to up the ante with a televised announce (as opposed to the web-based Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon in years past). We’ll be constantly updating our Bonnaroo lineup rumors post throughout the week, so keep checking back for the latest news, rumors, updates, and speculation.
While ‘Roo has historically unveiled its bill around February, last year marked an accelerated timeline, presumably due to pressure from other festivals, as the lineup arrived Jan. 13. That was also a Tuesday, making it exactly one year ago today; by that marker, the 2016 reveal is actually a week late.
Aside from the new visual unveiling, Bonnaroo’s site refresh has also brought us some ticket news. It looks like the fest is set to go back on sale next Friday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. CST. As rumored, this year will require a new car pass ($39.75) for day parkers or a car camping pass ($59.75) for campers, in addition to tickets, which start at $324.50 (before fees). Always a bummer to see a price hike, but festivals are an expensive endeavor (this summer will boast significant infrastructure upgrades, including running water and permanent toilets and showers), and we’re still holding out hope that this year’s 15th anniversary bill will be special enough to warrant the potential $400+ price tag.
