Updated Caroling Party-2015

On Dec. 19, we’re teaming up with old pals East Nashville Underground at The Stone Fox to bring you a night full of Christmas caroling fun with more than 20 of your favorite local bands.  Those of you who joined us before will remember arm in arm singing, shenanigans, laughs galore, holiday drinks, and some awesome takes on the holiday standards.  This year we can expect more of the same from acts like ELEL, Buffalo Rodeo, The Combo, Sad Baxter & Luella who will be join in with performers including, Jung Youth, Beech Benders, Tesla Rossa, Twiggs, Hot Tub Club, Waterfall Wash, Hotel War, Gardening Not Architecture, Photo Ops, American Dream, and Tetherball!

This year also features some fresh blood from the likes of Yankee Blood, Charlie Abbott, Phantom Farmer, & Jacob Thomas Jr.!  And, of course, no caroling evening would be complete without Mr. Steve The Music Man (aka Steve Lee) carrying us out in a full on, some of us slurring, sing-a-long.

Want more?  No problem.  This sucker is FREE!  That’s right.  Come one, come all to this celebration of friends and music at The Stone Fox starting at 7pm on Dec. 19!  We’ll also be keeping it charitable again this year by accepting unused pet food and other pet items at the door to donate to two of our favorite local animal rescues (heroes) A Place To Bark & Nashville Cat Rescue!

For the rest of the week, we’ll be getting you in the mood with little previews of each of the bands that will be performing carols on Saturday.  So, make sure you RSVP at the Facebook event page, get acquainted with the block of artists performing in the 8 o’clock hour after the jump, and stay tuned for more previews to come this week!

GARDENING, NOT ARCHITECTURE | “WONDERFUL CHRISTMASTIME” | 8:00 PM

We just hosted Gardening, Not Architecture at one of our Acme showcases, where the Sarah Saturday helmed project dazzled both sonically and visually in support of her recently released LP, Fossils.  You can hear a taste of that effort below, and arrive at 8pm, as Gardening, Not Architecture get things started with Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime.”

JACOB THOMAS JR. | “PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS” | 8:10 PM

Another No Country Presents alum, Jacob Thomas Jr. is a powerful songwriting force who captivated the crowd at Acme Feed & Seed with us last year in support of his stellar release, Original Sin.  Thomas Jr. will give us his take of Charles Brown’s bluesy standard, “Please Come Home For Christmas.”

YANKEE BLOOD | “MERRY CHRISTMAS DARLING” | 8:20 PM

New hot on the scene indie pop outfit, Yankee Blood is certainly turning heads with thier new EP, Honey.  You’ll have a chance to see front-woman Kelly Ruth’s chops when she tackles Karen Carpenter’s iconic “Merry Chirstmas Darling.”

CHARLIE ABBOTT | “ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU” | 8:30 PM

Another No Country Presents alum, Charlie Abbott, who has lent a hand to a number of bands around town, just released his solo EP, Watch Me Explode, a couple of months ago.  He’s gonna mix it up when he takes on Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

HOTEL WAR | “CHRISTMAS VACATION THEME SONG” | 8:40 PM

Raucous East Nashville rockers, Hotel War made a splash with their 2014 release, Nashville Nights, and were a force at last year’s event.  They are supposedly upping the ante this year by bringing in My Morning Jacket bassist, Tom Blankenship, to bring the Mavis Staples sung “Christmas Vacation Theme Song” to life.

LUELLA | “FEELIN’ VERY CHRISTMASY (ORIGINAL)” | 8:50 PM

Returning for a third straight year, Luella is essentially spending the week with No Country (she’s also playing at our Acme Feed & Seed showcase on Tuesday Dec. 15).  Those that have seen her performances before will be sure to be dialed in, as she brings in an original piece, “Feelin’ Very Christmasy.”

The Fourth Annual Christmas Carol Show takes place Saturday Dec. 19 at The Stone Fox. The show is 18+, begins at 8pm (doors at 6pm), and it’s totally FREE!
