The Wood Brothers-2015-620

The Wood Brothers will be playing all three nights this weekend at 3rd and Lindsley, and they are bringing along some great local acts as well as a few other Southerners to join in the fun! We raved about them last year at their Nashville show, and told you all about them with our Bonnaroo Band of the Day feature in 2014. They have just continue to put out great music, headlining amazing shows, and mentoring new artists with touring opportunities and producing credits. Having a long history in the music business – almost 10 years of touring as The Wood Brothers, Oliver’s time with his band King Johnson, and Chris’s time with Medeski, Martin, and Wood – these boys know the business inside and out, obviously still love what they do, and are lending a helping hand to newer artists finding their own path. With their amazing talent, experience, and connections to the Nashville music business, this is going to be a show you really need to catch. Friday night openers include Sam Lewis and Jerry Douglas, Saturday night includes Seth Walker and Amy Helm, and Sunday closes with Brigitte DeMeyer, Will Kimbrough, and The McCrary Sisters. All three shows start at 8pm, are all ages, and tickets are going for $25. While Friday night is all sold out, you can still get tickets for Saturday night here and Sunday night here, but you better hurry!

THE WOOD BROTHERS

Brothers Oliver and Chris Wood have paired with multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix to form a blend of folk, blues, and jazz music that has gained them many enthusiastic fans around the world. Their latest album Paradise, which dropped in October of 2015, is a bit more rock and roll than in the past, with Chris trading in his upright bass on a few tracks for an electric bass. Recorded in Nashville at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Studio, this album is about longing, desire and the endless quest for fulfillment and shows the ongoing evolution of the band. Always energetic and entertaining, The Wood Brothers know how to put on a great show, and with a bit more rock and roll tinge to the music this time, this is bound to be an awesome experience.

The Wood Brothers are performing all weekend (Dec. 4 – Dec. 6) at 3rd and Lindsley with a slew of special guests.  All of the shows are all ages and start at 8pm (doors at 6pm).  The Friday night show is sold out, but you can still get tickets for Saturday and/or Sunday for only $25.
