The Weeks-2015-620

The year might be winding down, but the holiday season still has plenty of great shows left! As we recently announced, Nashville’s own southern indie rockers The Weeks are set to play their last hometown headliner of the year tonight, Dec. 4 at The Basement East along with Chrome Pony and Junior Astronomers! If you’re a regular reader, then you already know this is going to be a can’t-miss show, so grab your tickets right here, and read on for details below!

THE WEEKS

Blending southern rock with garage, alternative, and indie rock sounds, The Weeks started in high school, and produced several early albums before ultimately relocating to Nashville, and, subsequently, signing to Kings of Leon’s Serpents & Snakes record label. Their breakthrough came in the form of 2012 (originally 2011) release, Gutter Gaunt Gangster, with 2013’s Dear Bo Jackson helping expand their critical and commercial presence, and further realize the evolution of their sound. The band dropped their most recent EP, Buttons, last year, and are expected to release a new LP in 2016. Just in the past few years, we’ve seen the group grow from small rooms to festival staples, club headliners, and international touring artists, and we couldn’t be prouder of their success. Eclectic in sound and energetic in their live performance, The Weeks are truly one of the most exciting rock bands to emerge from Nashville recent years. They’re set to debut some of their new live album at this, their last hometown headliner of the year, so don’t miss out!

CHROME PONY

A longtime site favorite, locals Chrome Pony are a staple in the Nashville scene, and have been frequent performers at our weekly Acme showcase this year. Founded by Indiana-bred brothers Tyler and Kyle Davis, the group pull influences from psychedelic, punk, garage, and good old fashioned rock and roll, culminating in a fantastic, fuzzy, and fiercely original voice of their own. Chrome Pony’s latest EP, You Are the Pisces, dropped last year, and they have plans to release lots of new tunes very soon.

JUNIOR ASTRONOMERS

Hailing from Charlotte, post-punk informed indie rockers Junior Astronomers are set to kick things off. With two excellent EPs under their belt, a reputation for a stellar live show, and a long-running friendship with The Weeks, they’re sure to set the perfect tone for the evening. Show up early!

The Weeks, Chrome Pony, and Junior Astronomers will perform tonight, Dec. 4 at The Basement East. The show is 21+, begins at 9 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.), and tickets are available to purchase for $15-20.
