Bluesy vintage pop songstress Whoa Dakota has just released a new video for her single “Banshee,” which is a taste of her forthcoming EP I’m a Liar, due out Aug. 6. The video was shot by Chris Gil and Gavin Shea at Handmade Studios here in Nashville, using flashing lights that suit the more poppy, electronic aesthetic of the single than we’ve seen with the bluesier, more soul-based music in Whoa Dakota’s past. If you caught her at our Acme showcase or saw one of our previous video premieres, it seems this new music is showing definite evolution in frontwoman/singer/songwriter Jessica Otts. Watch the video for “Banshee” after the jump, and be sure to catch Whoa Dakota next at Tin Roof on July 16 as part of Lightning 100’s On Tap Showcase.
