Last month, we brought you “Blue Pool,” the first single from piano pop turned indie pop songstress Vanessa Carlton‘s upcoming EP of the same name. Following 2010’s Rabbits on the Run, Carlton, now married to Deer Tick’s John McCauley and living here in Nashville after years in New York, has shifted her tone and direction, employing minimalist orchestration, haunting production, hypnotic melodies, and emotionally dense lyrics with her latest effort. Ahead of Blue Pool‘s July 24 release (which will be followed by the Oct. release of a proper full-length, Liberman) via Dine Alone Records, Carlton has debuted the Live Living Room Session of another new track, “Nothing Where Something Used to Be,” and it’s just as lovely as the first. Listen below!
