GogolBordello-620

As we announced last month, New York gypsy punks Gogol Bordello are set to return to Nashville for the first time in nearly six years in just a few short weeks, March 5 at Marathon Music Works. Since then, locals Fly Golden Eagle have joined the bill, making this show even more exciting! And, while tickets are still available here, we’re pleased to announced that we’re giving away a pair; so, read on for a preview, and enter below!

GOGOL BORDELLO

For over 15 years, Gogol Bordello have been blending elements of Eastern European Gypsy music with folk, dub, and punk, to create a unique and culturally transcendent sound that is only intensified by their high-energy, wildly entertaining live show (and unstoppable work ethic). Made up of musicians from all corners of the world and helmed by Ukrainian, Servitka descent Eugene Hütz, Gogol Bordello claim New York’s eclectic Lower East Side as their point of origin. With six full-lengths, countless television and festival appearances, and worldwide marketing partnerships under their belts, Gogol are as accomplished as they are seasoned, but don’t think for a second they’ve lost any of their bite: their live show is still wild and unpredictable, and you’d be crazy to miss out on it!

FLY GOLDEN EAGLE

If you’re not yet hip to local psych/rock/soul outfit Fly Golden Eagle, you must not be paying attention. For the past several years, this band of transplants have been cranking out some of the best tunes of the “new Nashville” rock scene, and have collaborated with the likes of Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and more. Their debut album, Swagger, was an unbelievably strong introduction, but it was last year’s Quartz Bijou (and its even more ambitious, 26-song extended counterpart, Quartz) that really showed off the band’s full, eclectic range and nostalgic meets modern sensibilities. If you’ve somehow slept on Fly Golden Eagle (or if you already know the great show you’re in for), don’t miss this chance to catch them live!
