DevilMakesThree-620

This year on Halloween night (Oct. 31), go ahead and ditch the costume parties (but not the costumes), and get your tails, scales, capes, or bones to Marathon Music Works for new grass folksters The Devil Makes Three and indie rockers The Cave Singers. Of course, tickets for this 18 + show are still available here for just $17.50, but, if you’re feeling lucky, click on after the jump, and try to win a pair on us! We’ll also tell you why this is the best lineup for your dollar.

THE DEVIL MAKES THREE

Claiming Santa Cruz, CA via Brattleboro, VT, The Devil Makes Three sound more like they hail from Appalachia, with their unique twist on one of music’s oldest genres. Old time and bluegrass mixed with country folk seasonings, and little rockabilly inspiration, makes for one hell of an interesting vibe, and an even better show. The band are starting to learn their way around Music City too, having just played Americana Fest, where they were up for Group of the Year. They’ve also released four full-length albums, including  2013’s I’m a Stranger Here, which was recorded in Dan Auerbach’s (Black Keys) Easy Eye Sound studios, also right here in Nashville. It peaked at number two on the US Bluegrass Charts, number 9 on US Folk Charts, and even cracked Billboard’s Top 200. It’s only a matter of time until they break things wide open for themselves, and we’re almost sure they’ll have some interesting tricks up their sleeve for a very special All Hallows’ Eve performance.

THE CAVE SINGERS

Made up of former members Seattle bands Pretty Girls Make Graves, Hint Hint, and Cobra High, The Cave Singers formed in 2007, and have been nothing if not prolific ever since, dropping an impressive four full-length albums in the span of six years, including their most recent, Naomi. A decidedly more indie rock leaning outfit than the night’s headliner, The Cave Singers do, however, possess a strong folk influence, which makes them a perfectly paired match for this bill.
