Kelly Ruth - 620

Local indie pop songstress Kelly Ruth has cut a new version of the Halloween favorite “Monster Mash” featuring some of Nashville’s finest, including James Karp, Adam Verone (Palaver Records), Jordan Hull, Charlie Whitten, Max Putnam (Cataline Crime) and Jared Colby (Alanna Royale) that’ll put you in the mood to carve a pumpkin and plan your perfect Halloween costume. Ruth has put together a new band recently, and is gearing up to release an EP which shows off her strongest songwriting to date. “In the spirit of the new material I’m writing, I wanted to do something fun with friends and other local musicians I respect,” she said of the “Monster Mash” project via email. “Once we heard how good the recording was, we just had to make a music video and I think it does a good job of showing how much fun we have in the studio.”

The music video celebrates Halloween at its most campy and includes a very funny reinterpretation of Psycho’s famous shower scene. Click through to do the Monster Mash.
