If you’ve been waiting for the followup to alt-folk hero and one-man-band Shakey Graves’ epic debut album, then you will wait no longer! Today, the Austin, TX native released And The War Came for us all to enjoy. The man himself says “This album is the trials and tribulations of becoming domesticated, letting people into your world and letting go of selfishness.” It is also a more robust, polished offering, as apposed to his first record’s roots and DIY feel. Don’t worry though, it’s still the Shakey Graves you know and love, of course.

Equally awesome, he will be playing Mercy Lounge Thursday, Oct. 16 with another Texas alt-country folkster, Joe Sundell. Tickets are currently available for just $12, but if you’ve been paying attention, you already know that No Country is giving away a pair of tickets fo’ free! Check out this post for all the contest details, click on after the jump to stream the new album (and be sure to buy it if you dig)!
