Last week brought plenty of fantastic show announcements, but local free concert series Live on the Green might have topped them all, bagging headliners like Cage the Elephant and Jake Bugg. The week wasn’t all announcements though; we also had a chance to catch some amazing live shows, and brought you some exciting new contests. In case you missed anything, here’s a recap of everything we covered:

  • NEWS: Live On The Green announced its fantastic 2014 lineup!
  • NEWS: Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival announced a stellar lineup including Jack White, Eminem, Lana Del Rey and more.
  • NEWS: Chromeo announced a show at Marathon Music on October 3 with Wave Racer.
  • NEWS: Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas made a huge announcement about a new album and a show at Marathon Music Works.
  • NEWS: Legend Loretta Lynn announced two nights at The Ryman this October.
  • NEWS: Broken Bells announced a date at the Ryman later this fall with Hamilton Leithauser.
  • NEWS: Tickets for The Avett Brothers’ Americana Music Fest show went on sale.
  • NEWS: Forecastle Fest announced more late night performers.
  • NEWS: Americana Music Fest announced half of its 2014 lineup!
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our staff highlighted the weekend’s must see shows.
  • REVIEW: We were lucky enough to catch Cage The Elephant with Plastic Visions at Mercy Lounge last week (w/ PHOTOS).
  • SHOW: Phantogram and Bad Things are coming to Marathon Music Works, and we gave away tickets!
  • SHOW: Rapper Oddisee played 12th & Porter with Mountainwalker, Amerigo Gazeway and Cold Fingers.
  • SHOW: Nashville Dancin’ continued its third week with Will Hoge, Drake White & The Big Fire, Clare Dunn and more!
  • SHOW: Shellshag took over The Stone Fox with Street Eaters and Breast Massage.
  • SHOW: Why Not Be Kings performed at 12th & Porter with Fabrizio & The Fever and Keelan Donovan.
  • RELEASE: Spoon debuted “The Rent I Pay” ahead of their performance at Forecastle.
  • VIDEO: Local duo Cherub debuted “<3” on Conan.
  • CONTEST: We have a pair of tickets to see The Neighbourhood with Travi$ Scott and White Arrows at Marathon Music Works.
  • CONTEST: We’re giving away a pair of tickets to Rodrigo y Gabriela at The Ryman!
