TheNeighbourhood-620

As we told you last month, indie/alt-rockers The Neighbourhood are set to make their return to Music City on July 14 at Marathon Music Works; their first Nashville show of 2014, following a sold out headlining Cannery Ballroom spot and a supporting slot at The Woods at Fontanel with Imagine Dragons. This time around, they’ll be bringing along rapper Travi$ Scott and psych-rockers White Arrows, and, lucky for you, tickets are still available. Even luckier for you, we’re giving away a pair, so keep reading to find out more about all three bands and for details on how to enter.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Seemingly exploding out of nowhere in 2012 with inescapably catchy hit single “Sweater Weather,” Southern California indie/alt-rocers The Neighbourhood found immediate success last year with their debut full-length, I Love You. Barely into their 20′s, the band have performed at fests like SXSW, Coachella, and Music Midtown, and have toured with The 1975 and Imagine Dragons. They made their way to Nashville not once, but twice, last year, supporting Imagine Dragons at Fontanel then headlining a performance at Cannery Ballroom. Blending indie rock, pop, and r&b, and channeling punk sensibilities, The Neighbourhood are one of the freshest bands to emerge on the indie scene in awhile, and are a real powerhouse live.

TRAVI$ SCOTT

At only 22, emerging hip hip artist Travi$ Scott is already brushing shoulders with some of the scene’s heaviest hitters. Formerly signed to the production wing of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, Scott is now apart of T.I.’s Grand Hustle, and is preparing his studio debut, Rodeo, for a release in the coming months. While he might sound out of place on this bill, Trai$ has collaborated with the likes of The 1975, and meshes well The Neighbourhood’s rhythmic sensibilities.

WHITE ARROWS

Conceived in New York and officially formed in Los Angeles, psych-pop group White Arrows found immediate buzz when they began releasing songs in 2011, which continued to amplify with the release of their debut, Dry Land Is Not a Myth, in 2012. Since then, the band have toured with acts like The Naked and Famous, Cults, and Santigold, and are currently preparing their sophomore release, due out later this year. They’re an excellent addition to the bill, and a great reason to show up early!
