While we were watching Nashville’s own Jack White absolutely rock Bonnaroo, the singer was busy setting a few impressive records. First, and unsurprisingly, his brand new album, Lazaretto, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, selling 138,000 copies (all the more impressive when you consider that his debut, Blunderbuss, sold that same amount two years ago, and record sales generally have been in decline). The real kicker? White sold 40,000 copies of the Lazaretto‘s “Ultra LP” vinyl edition, landing him the distinction of highest single-week vinyl sales since Nielsen SoundScan first started tracking them in 1991.  Bravo, Mr. White.

The former White Stripe also made a stop by Conan late last week, to chat Lazaretto, and to perform two of its tracks, “Temporary Ground” and “Alone in My Home.” Check it out below.
