Ah, we’ve been waiting for this official announcement for weeks: Parquet Courts are coming to Nashville! We first caught wind of a potential Nashville date when their routing had a mysterious hole between Memphis and Columbus, Ohio on June 5. A few well-placed calls later, and it was confirmed (but not to be released) that a date a Third Man Record’s Blue Room was in the works. Welp, cat’s out of the bag, tickets for this one will only cost you $7, and will also give you the chance to order a black and blue vinyl of the live performance right after the show.
Parquet Courts nearly killed us at SXSW this year (think steep hill, pedicab, drunk passengers, and lots of traffic) getting to their private house show performance, and their 2013 release, Light It Up Gold, was one of our top albums of last year. This Nashville date marks the first return to Nashville since their January 2013 stop in at the now defunct Owl Farm, and fills in a tour that routes them through the Eastern U.S. before a few months in Europe, but they’ll be back again for the fans at Lollapalooza and Pickathon later this summer.
These guys have an amazing amount of momentum from their previous releases, and based on our first listen to their newest, Sunbathing Animals, 2014 stands to glow even brighter. Needless to say, tickets for this one won’t last long. Don’t miss the boat.
Parquet Courts will perform June 5th at Third Man Records. The show is 18+, doors at 7PM, and tickets are available for $7.
