The new year can mean a lot of different things for a lot of different people, but as for the music world, the new year brings new releases – songs, albums or videos, and new show announcements. This past week was full of just that. In case you missed anything, check out this week’s recap and don’t miss your favorite band’s releases:

  • NEWS: Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros are going to play the Ryman in June.
  • NEWS: Motley Crue announced their final Nashville performance, set to take this fall with Alice Cooper.
  • NEWS: Local DIY show space The Owl Farm shut its doors for good.
  • NEWS: Juicy J announced a show at Marathon Music Works this spring.
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: We picked our favorite shows for the weekend.

  • RELEASE: Best Friend premiered a poppy new single, “Phases of the Moon.”
  • RELEASE: Financier released a new single called “Distance Eagle”.
  • RELEASE: Apache Relay dropped a new single and revealed details on their upcoming album.
  • STREAM: We recommended Nest‘s new EP Hadal for your streaming pleasure.
  • STREAM: Vinyl Thief premiered their new EP a week early.
  • STREAM: What Up, English made their new EP available to stream!
  • VIDEO: The 1975 premiered “Settle Down” ahead of their upcoming show in Nashville!
  • VIDEO: Paramore broke ten world records in their Nashville-set video for “Ain’t It Fun!”
  • VIDEO: One of our favorite new artists, Chelsea Lankes, premiered a music video for her single “Ghost.”
  • VIDEO: Tristen recently released a music video for “Catalyst.”
  • VIDEO: Pixies premiered new video ahead of their show at The Ryman.
  • VIDEO: Miley Cyrus brought a little bit of “Nashville” to MTV’s Unplugged.
  • VIDEO: The Hawk in Paris released a video for their song “Freaks”.
  • VIDEO: Alanna Royale dropped not one, not two, but three new videos!
  • VIDEO: Safe In Blue debuted a live video for “Wolves of the Revolution.”
  • FUN: Hump Day Diversion: Oasis does look back in anger, hilariously!
  • CONTEST: We’re giving away tickets to White Lies with Frankie Rose at Cannery Ballroom!
