Stone Jack Jones

Just a couple of weeks ago, we previewed a show that caught our eye going on over at The Stone Fox featuring legendary Nashville, by way of West Virginia, songwriter Stone Jack Jones headlining in support of his soon to be released full length, Ancestor.  The full length is set for release on March 17th, but we got a sneak peek of the new record while preparing our preview.  The album teases of ethereal Bobby Prince Billy songwriting, and the style of producer Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater-Kinney, Tennis) is apparent. Toss in back up vocals from Patty Griffin and a backing band featuring members of Lambchop, and it really can’t NOT be special, right?

We brought you the first track, “Black Coal” in our preview, and now we have another new single “State I’m In” which really encapsulates the ethereal vibe of the album. Check out both below to know why you will have Stone Jack Jones on your radar in the spring of 2014.
