In preparation for the release of the music lineup beginning this Thursday, Dec. 19, Moogfest has announced 12 music showcase curators including experimental record labels WARP, DFA, Fool’s Gold, Ghostly International, No. 19 Music’s Social Experiment, RVNG Intl., Driftless Recordings, and others. That means artists from these labels and collectives will be making up the music festival portion of the 5-day technovator’s convention. We can also go ahead and assume that we might be seeing some pretty interesting workshops based on this list, just as we anticipated from the speaker lineup announcement. Other curators include Afropunk, Crew Love, Switched On, Hopscotch Festival, and Movement.

If you’re fascinated with the convergence of technology and sound, these curators should peak your interest. Below, you’ll see that we’ve given you the rundown on a few of our favorites, so you can start thinking about who you might see in Asheville from April 23-27. Stay tuned… the headliners will be announced on Thursday, and GA tickets will go up to $299.

WARP Records

UK label established in 1989, one of the most highly regarded experimental and dance electronic labels across the world. Artists include Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Darkstar, Grizzly Bear, Flying Lotus, Tortoise, Battles, and many many more. Not only are they leaders in graphic design, but they also back film directors and operate in events.

#1 hopeful: Aphex Twin

DFA

Founders are LCD Soundsystem‘s James Murphy and Jonathan Galkin, if that gives you an idea of what they’re working with. They are responsible for some legendary releases from acts such as The Rapture, Hot Chip, The Juan Maclean, YACHT, Holy Ghost!, and of course, LCD.

#1 hopeful: DUH… LCD Soundsystem

Fool’s Gold

Brooklyn-based label founded by DJs A-Trak (Chromeo Dave’s baby brother) and Nick Catchdubs. Artists such as Danny Brown, Chromeo, Kavinsky (Drive), Run the Jewels (El-P + Killer Mike), and Flosstradamus.

#1 hopeful: Kavinsky

Ghostly International

More than just a label, it also operates as an art gallery, design hub, clothing designer, music-publishing company, and tech innovator. Artists include Matthew Dear, ADULT., Phantogram, Gold Panda, and Shigeto.

#1 hopeful: Matthew Dear

Crew Love

Three separate crews that master the art of making people dance—Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap, and Double Standard—have joined forces in Crew Love. Artists include Soul Clap, Nick Monaco, Pillowtalk, Navid Izadi.

#1 hopeful: Soul Clap
