Is it any suprise that we at No Country were chomping at the bit to let you know about this show? Cat Power’s most recent release Sun made our top 10 list of 2012, so, of course, we have a Ro-Sham-Bo competition going on over here to decide who gets to cover the out-of-this-world singer songwriter in the comfy confines of 3rd & Lindsley. It wasn’t just that last album that made us fans. Nope, we’ve been super fans of our fellow southerner since her she first signed with Matador Records after being discovered as an opener for Sonic Youth. Her politically charged and poignant songwriting and lyrical delivery has made her a mainstay in the under-appreciated category of awesome as well as a mainstay on No Country’s turntables.
